The IYA is the national sailing authority as recognized by the Israeli government, the Olympic Committee and the different international associations/federations. The main targets of the IYA are: * Developing, promoting and managing competitive sailing in Israel. * Organizing and managing national and international sailing competitions * Development and support of national sailing teams representing Israel abroad. * Representation on international level and promotion of international cooperation with sailing authorities in the world. The board and chairman of the IYA are elected once in 4 years at the General Assembly from among the representatives of all member yacht clubs.
